Once again we are humbled by the kind people who are helping us make this adjustment. We received a text from the Ward Mission Leader to Michael's new area. Quinn Felix of the Chico Third Ward sent the following pictures to keep us at ease.
This first one is Michael with part of his new wheels (well, minus one wheel at the moment).
Brother Felix drove Michael up to Chico, which we believe from Google Maps is a 90 minute drive.
Here is his apartment.
Brother Felix also shared a picture of Michael's new companion, Elder Coburn. We are told from Brother Felix, "he is the hardest working missionary I have ever known ... Elder Coburn is fearless and never stops."
There are 6 wards in Chico, and each ward has a set of missionaries. Michael and Elder Coburn are the only two in their apartment for now. They are just a couple blocks away from the Stake Center, and the counselor to the Mission President lives a couple of houses down from the elders so they are well watched over. Brother Felix also mentioned that he meets with them weekly and sees them almost daily so they will stay busy. One of Michael's roommates at BYU is from Chico, so we know we have other's keeping an eye out for him.
